From David Hagy, MUS ’84, ’86, ’92

Having been the Manager of the Yale Symphony for two years (1987-88) for good friend Alasdair Neale and helping raise the money for a 16-day tour to England, Scotland, and Wales (Summer 88), I got the job as the Music Director of the Salisbury (NC) Symphony. Twenty-six years later I am still the Music Director of this orchestra and also in my eighteenth year as the Orchestra Director at Wake Forest University. Along the way I have conducted both the Winston-Salem and Greensboro Youth Symphonies (ten years) as well as guest conducting with a variety of orchestras, most recently with the New York All-State String Orchestra in December. I hope all the students I worked with are doing well and I’d love to hear from any of them. And if they were on the tour to England “Trexel, Troxler, Tsui, Wu, Wu, Yoo, Young, Zuckerman!” (All who went will understand!)
