Join us for our 51st season opener as we perform the works of three Russian masters who exemplify the passion and romantic spirit of Russian music. From the opening trumpet fanfare of Tchaikovsky’s Polonaise from Eugene Onegin to the lush melodies of Shostakovich’s virtuosic Violin Concerto No. 1 played by YSO violinist Emily Switzer, winner of the 2016 William Waite Concerto Competition, and finally to Rachmaninoff’s sublime Symphony No. 2, the Yale Symphony will captivate and dazzle you.
