The YSO seeks applications for the above named position for the 22/23 Season 
 

Position:

1 Year (non-renewable)
 

Eligibility:

Yale Juniors and Seniors Undergraduates who have studied conducting at or outside Yale. Please note this position is not for the beginner conductor. 
Selection process is via application, interview and audition. YSO Music Director’s decision is final. If no suitable candidates apply the position will not be filled.
 

Duties: 

 
Understudying all YSO programs.
Conducting and Selecting music for Halloween Concert in cooperation with the Show Director.
Conducting some of the Undergraduate Composition Workshops.
Conducting sectional rehearsals.
Conducting select piece/s at the discretion of the Music Director.
Helping prepare music (bowings, phrasing, numbering etc) for each cycle of concerts.

Audition:

a 15 minute session with the YSO on the Finale of Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Sheherazade”
