Greetings from Holland, Michigan! I am on the faculty at Hope College, where I teach music history and world music, and was recently appointed chair of the music department. My research is on Stravinsky’s ballets. The old tuba is mostly sad and lonely these days, though I dusted it off for an Easter gig this year. I’m excited to relive some great YSO memories this fall when I teach my course on the History and Literature of the Symphony: Mahler 5, Prokofiev 5, Bruckner 7 and other faves from the 1990-93 seasons figure prominently in the syllabus!
