Event description:
Our first concert of the new year is a lilting reminder of simpler times, featuring two pieces portraying the perspectives of children. The Yale Symphony Orchestra presents Ravel’s Mother Goose Suite, a fairy-tale ballet originally written as a piano duet for two children, and Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 with soprano Jessica Pray, said to represent a child’s view of heaven. Featuring Yale Glee Club in the world premiere of Caroline Shaw’s “Music in Common Time,” guest conducted by Yale Glee Club director Jeffrey Douma.
